Scottish programme for protected woodland sites

A sheltered woodland path with sun filtering through the treesThe Scottish Programme for Protected Woodland Sites sets out the action required to improve designated woodland sites and bring them into favourable condition.

The Scottish Forestry Strategy 2006 made this a priority action, and Forestry Commission Scotland undertook to develop a programme as part of the 2007/08 Implementation Plan for the strategy.

The programme was developed by FCS and Scottish Natural Heritage, with help from Deer Commission Scotland and the Scottish Government's Rural Payments and Inspectorate Division.
