Wildlife watching

Woodlands are excellent places to see wildlife, particularly if you live in an urban area where access to traditional UK wildlife  is limited. What you are able to see in your local woodland will also depend on the season. However,  with a simple walk through a local woodland at any time of the year you will probably be able to see some of the UK's most recognisable animals covering bird life, mammals, insects and amphibians.

The best times to see many animals is either first thing in the morning just after dawn or last thing in the evening just before dusk.
