Friends of Woodlands Groups are a very effective way of ensuring your local woodland is cared for and maintained properly, especially if the woodland is owned and managed by the local authority. If your local woodland has a Friends Group consider joining so that your voice is heard on protecting the woodland for the future.
If there is no local Friends Group why not start one up? A formally constituted Friends Group may be eligible for Forestry Commission grant aid under the London Woodland Grant Scheme to undertake works within the woodland.
To find out more about Friends Groups near you start by contacting your local authority tree officer, their contact details can be found on the London Tree Officer's Association website.
