| Whinlatter Watch Group
Thanks to all who bought plants at the May plant sale, it was a very sucessful and enjoyable day, well done to everyone. Please note that the May 2008 activity day has been unfortunately cancelled however the rest of this years schedule is unchanged. Whinlatter Mountain Forest Watch Group is a great way to find out more about the environment, the area in which you live and how you can help look after it through hands on work, sensory activities and games. The watch group is a partnership between Cumbria Wildlife Trust and The Forestry Commission, meeting one Saturday a month at Whinlatter visitor’s centre. The FREE nature activities are for children between the ages of 6 – 12, parents are welcome to accompany their children, all children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a parent or known adult. All events run from 11am until 1pm on Saturdays unless otherwise stated. Our 2008 programme is now available and includes music activities and a mystery trip. For any more information on Whinlatter Mountain Forest Watch Group, please contact Jane Fox, Catherine Mole or Laura Watson on 017687 78469 or Izzy Thorne (Cumbria Wildlife Trust) on 01539 816300. | Useful sites
