New Grant for Woodlands – Eastern Dales Woodland Restoration Programme

There are six landfill sites within the designated project area – Catterick Bridge, Leyburn, West Tanfield, Ripon, Harrogate and Skibeden (near Skipton)

Projects must

  • Be for new planting or the restoration of native upland oak, ash or wet woodland
  • Significantly conserve, enhance or add to the understanding of the area’s natural heritage and support its economic and social well-being
  • Be accessible to the general public or be clearly visible from a public right of way
  • Be supported by the local community

You must

  • Be able to make a contribution to the project cost – this can be cash, labour, materials or volunteer time
  • Be willing to allow our donors to visit your project if appropriate
  • Be willing to sign a ten year maintenance agreement for your project
  • Be able to get the landowner to give their consent for the project if you do not own the land
