How we built Anderwood Cottages

Each three-bedroom house has a hay barn and stables, perfect for both commoners and their livestock. Every effort has been made to make these houses not only affordable but also sustainable.  Read the full press release for further information on these homes and the Open Days.

Construction of timber frame using Douglas fir

The timber frame construction was made from Douglas fir trees taken from the adjacent Anderwood Inclosure. Eco-friendly features such as grey water harvesting and geo-thermal heating have also been incorporated into the design. Electricity will be produced from the solar roof panels, with any surplus being fed back into the national electricity system.
