Shadow Rangers - NottinghamshireWe are looking for individuals with an interest in pursuing a career in countryside management. Successful applicants will be given training and development opportunities by work shadowing current countryside management staff. They will develop on the job skills and experience, including: practical site management (habitat creation and restoration); working with communities (capacity building, project development and implementation); planning and undertaking countryside events, guided walks, cycle rides; and environmental education. Participants may also have access to some formal training courses. You may also want to have a look at our volunteering page as there are always opportunites to get stuck in! Volunteer Warden TrainingVolunteer wardens are people who help us manage our local sites on a regular basis and in a variety of ways including: - Assisting with events
- Leading guided walks
- Carrying out survey work
- Putting up posters
- Conservation work
- Reporting incidents
We currently provide informal "on the job" training for volunteers, but are developing a specific training programme for long term volunteer wardens. Fun In A Box TrainingFun in a Box, training workshops aim to introduce participants to the range of titles and activities available, they are run annually, or more frequently dependant on demand. One to one or groups are catered for, the workshops cover - What Fun in a Box is all about. The range of box titles available, the themes and activities they cover. What the boxes contain and how to use them. Demonstration and participation for some of the activities. Guidance on working with groups on countryside sites. Signpost to training and resources to help develop skills in leading and managing groups.
