Walking refreshes the mind and body. There are a host of places where you can unwind and enjoy the tranquility of being in the natural environment.

We have selected some for you to try in our quick guide. Whether it's easy access, or a day long ramble.

Bike
"The bicycle, the bicycle surely, should always be the vehicle of novelists and poets."  (Christopher Morley) There are trails to suit all abilities accross the East Midlands and whether it's a gentle family cycle route or a technical piece of single track, we've got it. You don't even need a bike!

Think
Being out in the natural environment is a great place to reflect and gain inspiration. Maybe you can think of an event or activity you'd like to do in our woods. You may need a permit.

Bring the family
We have some great places to bring the family. Why not try the fantastic Tree Top Trail at Salcey Forest or spend the day at Sherwood Pines?
