Working together with other organisations is essential to the future of the North West England Region and is becoming an increasing element of our work.
The Forestry Commission is working with other organisations to restore the environmental deficit of the first industrial revolution and protect and enhance important wildlife and habitats.
The region's woodland cover is low, especially in the rural lowlands. However, the woodlands that we do have are of immense importance. They are included in the high quality landscapes of the Lake District to the parklands and estate landscapes of Cheshire and the Mersey Belt.
