School and College Visits
The forests of South East England are ideal locations for a whole range of educational visits for schools and colleges.
Led Visits Specialist Education Teams at Alice Holt (Hampshire) and Bedgebury Pinetum (Kent), and New Forest Rangers lead visits for groups of all ages on a wide range of subjects. On school visits children are fully involved in their learning through educational games and activities which enable them to experience the forest at close quarters. Older students take part in study activities, team work and guided walks to meet their particular educational requirements. All these visits link to the National Curriculum or to specific course requirements. In addition to visits for schools and colleges, guided walks, talks and team building activities are available for other groups, including youth and children's organisations such as Scouts and Guides and adult organisations of all kinds including businesses and voluntary groups. For full details of what's available in each location and to make bookings please click on the following links: Alice Holt Bedgebury New Forest Self-led Visits For those who would prefer to run their own visits, FC staff are happy to advise on appropriate locations for these studies and activities. It's also important that FC staff are advised of forthcoming visits in order to inform visitors of any operations or activities taking place and of any restrictions associated with them. This is primarily for the safety of the visiting group. Self -led visits can take place at the locations already mentioned and in other forests around the region. At Wendover Woods there is a classroom available to hire as a base for your visit.
