Activities for Children's Birthday Parties

‘Wild Style Party’ Activities Explained

Mini-beast Safari (suits late spring to autumn and all age groups)

Explore the wonderful world of mini-beasts, on a short walk into a woodland habitat. Everyone explores the woody surroundings looking for the creepy crawlies that live here. We study the mini-beasts found, watching how they move, hide and eat. During summer we will also look at grassland mini-beasts using sweep nets to catch them. If there’s time we’ll all paint a picture of our favourite mini-beast.

Rainbow Ramble (suits the autumn for colours and ages 4-8 years)

Explore the woodland on a short walk seeking out the variety of colours on offer. Who can find the biggest and smallest leaf? To finish everyone picks their favourite leaves and creates a unique collage to take home, using the collected items.

Shelter Building (an all year activity, suits ages 6-12 years)

We head into the woods where there are plenty of logs for everyone to be let loose with. Team-building skills form a valuable part in this activity, with each team building their own shelter. We check out each teams shelter and learn the techniques needed to build a natural home.

Dream Catchers (suits summer and autumn, ages 6-10 years)

Following a North American Indian tradition everyone will make a dream catcher decorated with natural objects found on our wander around the woods. According to the tradition, a dream catcher hung over your bed will catch bad dreams before they reach you.

Woodland Fun and Games (an all year activity, suits ages 5-10)

A fun walk around the woods with a difference as we play games highlighting the natural beauty of woodlands. Activities vary from party to party and include, Eye in the Sky, Smelly Cocktails, Natures Picture, Cameras, Egg Box Textures, Scavenger Hunts, Tree Leaf Tester, Bark Rubbing, Tree Hugging, Magic Spots, Tree Poems and Scratch and Sniff. We always end with parachute games.

Camouflage Capers (suits late spring to autumn, ages 4- 7 years)

After a short walk into the woods we see who is the most camouflaged before discovering the hidden animals. Then it’s our turn to blend in as we create a woodland animal mask to camouflage ourselves. There is fun to finish as we play woodland hide and seek!

Wild Woodland Wizards (suits late spring to autumn, ages 4-7 years)

Search for the hidden message left in the woods by Merlin, the Wizard of Wendover. This asks everyone to help Merlin cast happy spells on the woodland. Everyone must become a woodland elf for the day by making a wizard hat decorated with natural items found in the woods!
