Active Lifestyles

Health is key to Active Ageing. Maintaining good health is essential to life expectancy and maintaining quality of life in older age. Research shows that physical activity is the single most significant means whereby individuals can influence their own health and functional abilities as they age.

Active Ageing is the process of optimising  opportunities for physical, social and mental well being throughout the life course in order to extend healthy life expectancy and the quality of life in older age.  Activities are available throughout the East of England – from Flower Photography workshops at Thetford Forest Park, Suffolk, to guided walks in Peterborough and volunteering opportunities at the Forest of Marston Vale, Bedford.
