Broadleaf Timber Sales

 

 
Ian Blake, formerly our Production Team Manager for South Wales, is working for Wales Harvesting and Marketing as our Hardwood Marketing Officer. Ian has long experience in timber harvesting and in broadleaf woodland management.  During a previous role as Hardwood Marketing Manager from 2000 to 2002 he brought 8,000 cubic metres to market per annum, and helped organise the annual management of some 200 hectares of broadleaf woodland.

Ian will be developing the markets for hardwood timber production from Assembly Woodlands. During his two year appointment, Ian will put forward a seven year production plan for broadleaf timber running through to 2016. We will be publishing the first edition of this production plan by the end of 2008.   

We are also working to publish a hardwood timber marketing plan. Amongst its proposals the Forestry Commission Wales will be offering the opportunity for the private sector to market their broadleaf woodlands alongside the Assembly woodlands. Further details will be available once the marketing plan is published.
