Long Term Contracts (LTC)

 

 
Forestry Commission Wales offers around 50% of total timber production for sale through Long Term Contracts (LTC). All LTC are offered through open and fair competition and the process of awarding these contracts has been successful. To discuss any aspect of LTC, contact Bill MacDonald.

We completed our review on how future LTC should be offered to the market. We would like to thank all those who took the time and trouble to respond. The key issues raised can be found in the Digest of Comments on LTC Consultation (pdf, 31kb, 6 pages).The second round of LTC sales were completed at the end of March 2008 and we have published details of the results of Round 2 (pdf, 21kb, 1 page).

We have started the process for Round 3 of LTC and are currently advertising an Expression of Interest. Following this third round no more LTC will be offered until 2012 when the first round of LTC end. Those that successfully qualified to tender in previous rounds will not be required to participate at the pre-qualification stage and will automatically be invited to tender. Documents for Round 3 will be available to download on these pages from 31st October.

The timetable for round 3 will be as follows:

• 31st October 2008 - Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) (pdf, 99kb, 15 pages) published
• 5th December 2008 - Final date for raising enquiries
• 12th December 2008 1300 hrs - Closing date for submitting completed PQQ
• *19th December 2008 - Notification of PQQ outcome
• *22nd January 2009 - Invitation to Tender (ITT) issued
• *19th March 2009 - Closing date for ITT response
• *6th April 2009 - Notification of ITT outcome
• *Week commencing 13th April 2009 - Contracts signed
