- Spot snowdrops nodding in the breeze
- Touch smooth, waxy leaves and prickly holly
- Look out for winter flowers such as camelia
- See many old nests can you spot up in the bare tree tops
- Listen for blackbirds and robins rustling in the undergrowth
- Find tickly pine needles joined in pairs, 3s or 5s
- Follow the pattern of bare branches against the sky
- Go searching for different lichens on fallen twigs or up in the branches
