There are masses of opportunities for playing in the woods - trees, logs, small streams, open spaces, playgrounds!
Come and use your imagination and initiative to have heaps of fun.
The Play Wood
Discover a place where trees rule our world at Play Wood.
Children can enjoy climbing on foresters’ ‘machinery’, the Pirate Ship and many other items. Two new pieces of accessible play equipment, a wheelspin and nest swing, have been installed to enable children with disabilities to enjoy the playground.
For even more adventure on a forestry theme visit our 3D maze, based on the old forester’s sawmill.
Its ladders, passages and winding corridors are spread over 4 floors. Views over the forest and a little playhouse greet you at the top.
Journey further into the forest and you will be greeted by an amazing array of forest creatures.
Climb a spiral staircase inside a tree trunk, home of the woodpecker; run up an owl's back and see the forest through his eyes, find a bridge guarded by snakes and climb over a bat and moth.
The final area on the route is now open and the network of tunnels gives you the chance to feel like a rabbit in a warren or a badger in a sett.
