The travelling Green Machine will visit schools and community events around the country, promoting the natural heritage as an asset to enjoy, as well as a possible career choice.

The initiative is a joint venture between Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and Forestry Commission Scotland, as part of the Year of Highland Culture celebrations.

The Green Machine - an interpretative trailer - will be aimed at older primary and secondary age children, and will feature curriculum-based materials about green issues, including jobs, renewable energy and recycling. It will emphasise the impact people past and present have had on the environment.
