Facilities
Parking
There is adequate parking on site for most days of the year. The site entry fee includes the parking fee. The VAQAS recommended minimum visit time is 4 hours.
Toilets
Toilets are available inside the Café and also outside, where there is 24 hour provision. Both have fully accessible facilities.
Café
The Café serves a variety of home produced and locally sourced food.
Information Point and Site Entry
This is the place for information about the forest and what it has to offer. Leaflets, Maps and Discovery Pass purchase are available from here.
Adventurous Play Area
The play area is set among the trees with challenges for children of most abilities and ages. Five giant wooden play sculptures are linked by an easy access trail suitable for buggies, as well as wheelchairs and easy walking.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome in the forest in certain areas including the area immediately around High lodge. We request that dogs are kept on leads. This is for the safety of the other forest users as well as to protect the wildlife.
High Lodge is fully wheel chair accessible and has fully accessible toilet facilities both in the centre and in the new toilet block. An easy access trail is available from just outside the centre, it passes by the five giant play sculptures and has seats along the way. Most of the walking trails around the High Lodge are flat but the surfaces may be uneven.
Barbecue Hire
Barbecues can only be used if hired from High Lodge. We regret barbecues will not be available on concert weekends.
Go Ape. UK’s No.1 Forest Adventure Enjoy the classic Go Ape experience in the trees (including an adventure for Tiny Tarzans) or explore the forest on an all-terrain segway.
