High Lodge Access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our visitors.
The Café serves a variety of home produced and locally sourced food.
Information Point and Site Entry
This is the place for information about the forest and what it has to offer. Leaflets, Maps and Discovery Pass purchase are available from here.
Adventurous Play Area
The play area is set among the trees with challenges for children of most abilities and ages. Five giant wooden play sculptures are linked by an easy access trail suitable for buggies, as well as wheelchairs and easy walking.
Dogs are welcome in the forest including the area immediately around High Lodge Café. However we request that dogs are kept under close control. This is for the safety of other forest users as well as to protect wildlife in the wider forest.
Seasonal Canine Illness - find out more
High Lodge is fully wheel chair accessible and has fully accessible toilet facilities both in the centre and in the toilet block. An easy access trail is available from just outside the centre, it passes by the five giant play sculptures and has seats along the way. Most of the walking trails around the High Lodge are flat but the surfaces may be uneven.
Barbecues can only be used if hired from High Lodge. We regret barbecues will not be available on concert weekends.
