UK climate impacts programme

The UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP) helps organisations assess how they might be affected by climate change, so they can prepare for its impact. It provides scenarios that show how the UK climate might change and co-ordinates research on dealing with future climate. UKCIP shares this information, free of charge, with organisations in the commercial and public sectors to help them prepare for the impacts of climate change.

Set up in April 1997, UKCIP is funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is based at the University of Oxford. It works with stakeholders to co-ordinate research on how climate change will have an impact at regional and national levels. UKCIP provides support and guidance throughout the process for both stakeholders and researchers, and provides a bridge between researchers and decision-makers in government organisations and business.
