What facilities are there?

For a full list of facilities follow the links on the right hand side.

How do I get there?

See a map.

  • By car, Follow the brown tourist signs from the A38 and A380 (this is also the turning for Exeter Racecourse). Continue down the road, passing the Haldon Forest Park entrance sign. Pass the first gateway, you will see 'Office entrance only' is painted on the road and in 200 metres on you will see the main entrance.
  • By bus, you can catch the 360 bus to the Belvedere Tower. You can then join the trails through the woods, from the layby.
  • By bicycle you can follow the A38 Cycle Way, which is part of the National Cycle Network. Turn off at the racecourse and follow the signs for Haldon Forest Park. Carry on past the first gateway you see ('Office entrance only' is painted on the road there) and 200 metres on you will see the main entrance.

Please don't use our postcode in your Sat Nav! It will take you to the Forestry Commission Office instead of the Haldon Forest Park visitor's car park. Follow the directions above instead.

Is there a ranger on-site?

There is at least one ranger on-site every day during opening hours. A ranger can usually be found in the ranger's office near the Gateway car park, however they do have many duties that require them to be out and about in the park. The ranger on duty will always leave their contact number on the board, displayed in the office window.

If you have an emergency, always contact the emergency services first.

Where can I stay in the area?
