This page provides a full list of grants approved and paid under the Scottish Forestry Grants Scheme (SFGS), detailing the schemes, locations, SFGS objectives and the grant recipients. 

The information is updated quarterly. The latest update contains details up to end of June 08.

The information is available in PDF format, as an MS Excel spreadsheet, and as a .csv file, which can be downloaded into a spreadsheet or database for searching or creating reports.

Creating reports using the .csv file

You can use the .csv file to download the list of grants approved and paid to a database such as Microsoft Access.  This will let you search the information and create reports to suit your own needs.  See the how to use .csv files page for help.

Summary codes for objective types

Each line in the payee list relates to a component of the scheme.  Each component has a particular objective, identified by the summary code assigned to it, e.g. 'P3' is used to indicate a woodland expansion grant for improving riparian habitat.  The objectives are summarised as:

Woodland expansion grants
P1: Establishing well-designed productive woodland.
P2: Expanding areas of native woodland.
P3: Improving riparian habitat.
P4: Improving the quality and setting of urban or post-industrial areas.
P5: Improving the diversity of the farmed and crofting landscape.

Restocking grants
R1: Producing well-designed productive woodland.
R2: Restoring area of native woodland.
R3: Improving riparian habitat.
R4: Improving the quality and setting of urban or post-industrial areas.
R5: Improving the diversity of the farmed and crofting landscape.

Stewardship grants
S1: Improving timber quality.
S2: Reducing deer numbers.
S3: Native woodlands.
S4: Improving woodland biodiversity.
S5: Landscape improvement
S6: Developing alternative systems to clear felling.
S7: Woodland recreation.
S8: Developing community involvement.
S9: Controlled livestock grazing in woodlands.

Viewing the PDF files

You can view the details of grants approved and paid in PDF format. If you don't already have it, you can download Acrobat Reader from the Adobe website. Please note that you'll need Reader version 5 or above to view the documents.

As there is a large volume of information in these files, you will need to use the 'zoom in' feature in Acrobat Reader to view the details at a sufficient size on-screen. You'll find 'zoom' options in the 'view' menu in Acrobat Reader.
