How to get to Balnain Bike Park
Balnain Bike Park is near the village of Balnain, west of Drumnadrochit, by Loch Ness.
Map showing where Balnain is in Scotland (link to an external site) By CarComing from Inverness, follow the A82 along the side of Loch Ness to Drumnadrochit. At Drumnadrochit turn right along the A831and head for Balnain, which is about five miles away. You'll see the Glen Urquhart Forestry Commission sign on the left hand side of the road. Turn in here, across the river, to the car park. The bike park is a few hundred yards along the forest road that's on the left hand side of car park as you enter it. If coming from Fort William or Spean Bridge, follow the A82 through Fort Augustus to Drumnadrochit. At Drumnadrochit, turn left onto the A831 and follow the directions as above. By public transportBy busThe Scottish Citylink service 919 runs daily from Inverness to Fort William via Drumnadrochit. Journey time to Drumnadrochit is around 25 minutes from Inverness and 1 hour 25 minutes from Fort William. Balnain is about five miles from Drumnadrochit on the A831. Bikes are carried on Scottish Citylink services free of charge provided they are in an approved box or bag and that there is sufficient space in the luggage hold.
