The Learnie Red Rock trails are in Learnie Forest on the Black Isle, to the north west of Inverness. Access to the trailhead is from the Red Rock car park, which lies just off the A832 Fortrose - Cromarty road.

By car
If travelling from Inverness, take the A9 north until you reach the Tore roundabout. At the roundabout, follow the A832 towards Cromarty. The Red Rock car park lies just off the A832, roughly 3 miles past Rosemarkie village. Turn right off the A832 into the car park.
If coming from the north, follow the A9 south to the Tore roundabout and then follow the A832 as outlined above.
An alternative route from the north in Summer is via the Nigg Ferry and Cromarty. Follow the A832 out of Cromarty for approximately 4.5 miles. The Red Rock car park is on the left off the main road.
By public transport
National cycle route 1 runs past the Learnie Red Rock trails, a ride of roughly 30km from Inverness. See the Sustrans website for further details.
By bus
At present there is no facility for carrying bikes on scheduled bus services that run past the Red Rock trails. Rapsons bus service 26 runs daily from Inverness to Rosemarkie.
Scottish Citylink runs intercity connections to Inverness. Bikes are carried on Scottish Citylink services free of charge provided they are in an approved box or bag and that there is sufficient space in the luggage hold. See the Scottish Citylink website for further details.

By train
The nearest stations are at Inverness, Muir of Ord and Dingwall, all of which are approximately 30km from the trails by road.
You might need to book in advance to take your bike on the train. See First Scotrail's information for cyclists.
Journey times from Inverness are roughly 20 minutes to Muir of Ord and 30 minutes to Dingwall. Inverness is approximately 2 hours 10 minutes by train from Aberdeen and around 3 hours 30 minutes by train from Glasgow or Edinburgh. More details are available on the First Scotrail website.
