Self led visits

Not every group visiting the forests will need a ranger-led session, and with a little planning a day of self-led activities can be a great success.

Almost every aspect of the National Curriculum can be incorporated into a visit, from biology and geography to drama and art. The woods are also a fantastic resource for less formalised learning, where skills such as team-work and problem solving can be developed.

Group leaders should always come out for a pre-visit as our forests vary in on-site facilities and car parking. We also ask that, for health and safety reasons, anybody wishing to bring a group of more than 20 people lets us know. Click here to contact us with details of your proposed visit.
