Sustainability within MES
 

WOODLAND NEAR LOCH ACHRAY SHOWING THE DIVERSITY OF TREES. QEFP. C AND T  FDThe Forestry Commission’s woodlands are certified with the
UK Woodland Assurance Scheme (UKWAS) which requires a
policy of sustainable forest management. Mechanical Engin-
-eering Services contributes to this by being alert to the
benefits of new and sometimes ‘rediscovered’ technology and
seeking ways of minimising the environmental impact of the
Forestry Commission’s activities. MES are contributing towards
implementing sustainable forest management from a 'greening'
use of resources, ie alternative fuels, lubricants, and chemicals.
