Other Information about Ranger-led Visits

How Long Do Ranger-led Sessions Last?
Ranger-led sessions last two hours and can be booked to take place any time between 9am and 12pm OR between 12.15pm and 3.15pm.
Forest Experience Days last for as long as you can stay with us! Just tell us what time you can arrive and what time you need to leave, and we will allocate session times to make the best use of the day.

How Much Will a Visit Cost?
Each 2 hour Ranger-led session at Beechenhurst Lodge will cost £60 per group. Sessions required at other sites or at times other than those stated above will cost an additional £20.
For 2008, a Forest Experience Day will cost £100 per group of up to 35 children.

What About Safety?
You are responsible for providing enough competent adult helpers to satisfy your LEA requirements. We RECOMMEND that for a Ranger-led session, you bring one adult for every six children.
For a Forest Experience Day, you MUST bring at least one adult for every five children. Adults will be expected to join in with all the activities.
The Ranger will carry out a risk assessment prior to the visit. A copy will be made available to the school if requested.
The Ranger will carry a first aid kit, but you will be responsible for bringing any special medical equipment required by the children eg inhalers.
Children and adults must wear appropriate clothing for the weather and the time of year.
