Some of your local woodlands

Need a leaflet or map?
We can send you leaflets about the forests listed above, or a general introduction to the forests of central Scotland.  Please contact the District Office. Our contact details are on the right hand side of the page.   You can also download a map of woodlands in central Scotland (PDF 415k)

If you would like a map showing tracks and trails in a Forestry Commission Scotland woodland that don't feature on one of our leaflets, then contact the office, tell us which forest you are interested in and we can send you a map to help you find your way around.

Scottish Lowlands Forest District

We are part of Forestry Commission Scotland and manage many of the woods and forests in central Scotland.  Amongst the things we do are:

  • we plant and manage the trees and forests;
  • we protect wildlife and their habitats;
  • we provide public access;
  • we involve local people in what we do;
  • we market the timber that is harvested from the forests; and
  • we design the forests so that they can cater for all these aspects in the future.
