The wet spring has not deterred visitors to Jeskyns and the site continues to grow and establish.

Some exciting developments have taken place:

Jeskyns Children's Trail
Why not come and try our Children's Trail? Pick up a trail map from Cobham Village Stores or at the Jeskyns car park. Using the map work your way round the site finding the hidden brass discs to discover what kinds of animals make Jeskyns their home.

Grazing
One of the most sensitive ways of managing wildflower meadows is with a combination of grazingCattle grazing among newly planted trees in an agroforestry situation . Trees protected by treeshelters or by netting and barbed wire ( typical of cider orchards . Location: Long Ashton , Bristol , Avon , England . and hay cutting.   For Jeskyns, we have sourced a local young grazier through the Defra Fresh Start Scheme. This scheme aims to provide training and opportunities for young farmers, who would otherwise struggle to start farming in today’s market.  Cattle and sheep should soon be grazing the 50 hectares of new wildflower meadow at Jeskyns.

Ponds
Our four ponds have now been planted with a range of native water and marginal plants.  New fencing helps protect these plants whilst they establish ensuring that the ponds become a haven for wildlife.
