Information for applicants

As Treegeneration is initially in a pilot phase, there is a limited amount of funding available for tree planting projects. If you have a project that you think may qualify for support, you should run it through the Applicant’s checklist.

If you are able to tick one or more of the boxes for each section of the checklist you should contact the Project Officer to discuss your project further. The Project Officer will then inform you whether or not you should continue with your application during phase 1.

N.B. One of the key characteristics that will determine whether or not a tree planting project will be sustainable, and therefore worth funding during phase 1, will be its long-term maintenance. Projects for which an acceptable level of maintenance has been arranged, whether through the landowner or land manager, will therefore be more favourable than those with little or no provision for maintenance. For more information on what is deemed acceptable, please refer to the Establishment and Maintenance Guidelines.
