Community involvement
Involving local communities in the management of forests has become increasingly common over the past decade. The Forestry Commission welcomes this and actively encourages the participation of local people to help guide the management of forests. Some people like to get their hands dirty and do physical work in the forest, (see volunteers) whereas others take more of an advisory role (see stakeholders).
