Tweed Valley ospreys - osprey chicks, a close up of the young osprey, ranger working at the osprey nest

Welcome to the Tweed Valley ospreys

The 2008 Osprey Watch season is now over: All three of our osprey chicks successfully fledged and are on their way to overwinter in Africa.  We expect our resident nesting pair back in early April 2009.

The viewing centres at Glentress and Kailzie will reopen next spring.

We will again be featuring live nest camera coverage of ospreys and many other species in our centres, as well as a full program of events, guided walks, and kids activities.

Get involved

If you would like to get involved, why not consider becoming an volunteer? Full training is given, and starts early 2009.  You'll have the chance to help staff the centres, run events, attend talks, outings and social occasions, and meet some great people.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the 2008 Osprey season such a success - the best breeding year the birds in the Borders have ever had!
