Environment and Climate Change Minister for Scotland

Paul Wheelhouse MSPPaul Wheelhouse MSP

Born in 1970 in Belfast and raised in Edinburgh, Mr Wheelhouse attended Stewart's Melville College, before graduating from the University of Aberdeen with an honours degree in Economics. Mr Wheelhouse then went on to earn an MBA from the University of Edinburgh.

Mr Wheelhouse is a professional economist and since 1992 has specialised in higher and further education markets, policy evaluation and economic appraisal and impact assessment of capital projects.

He currently serves on the Scottish Parliament's Finance Committee and the Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee. Mr Wheelhouse is the Parliamentary Liason Officer to the Cabinet Secretary for Parliamentary Business and Governement Strategy and prior to his appointment as Minister, served as Parliamentary Liason Officer for Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and Environment and the Minister for Climate Change.
