Walking
Whinlatter is a great place for walking with many miles of gravel roads, paths and tracks to explore. Each junction is marked with a numbered post which is shown on the Forest Park guide map making it easy to create your own route.
Whinlatter Forest Park offers unrivalled views across Bassenthwaite Lake , Derwentwater and Keswick. From the higher walks you can see magnificent 360 degree panoramas of the northern Lake District mountains. The routes take you through mature forest, open glades, viewpoints and alongside streams, waterfalls and ponds.

Please remember that the weather can change quickly especially on the higher mountains. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear, take extra layers, food and drink. You should only attempt our high level walks if you are fit and properly equipped.

- Seat How - 2.75 miles - 2.5 hours - strenuous
