Things we make from softwood trees

LARCH trees produce a strong and durable timber that is used for fencing and gates.

SCOTS PINE timber is known as 'red deal' and is strong and easy to work. It is not naturally long lasting but is easily treated with preservatives. Long ago it was used for ship masts, but today we use it for building, telegraph poles and particle board.

LODGEPOLE PINE timber is used for roofing, flooring and in making chipboard and particle board.

DOUGLAS FIR timber is called 'Oregon pine' and is used to make big construction timbers, furniture and paper pulp.
