The Habitat Trail is an exciting children's route which features amazing wooden play sculptures.
The trail begins at the far end of the second car park in dramatic fashion with a 50ft wooden Totem Pole.
The first play sculpture is the Owl. Children can climb up the tail of the giant bird and look down from the top of its head! They can then use the fireman's pole to slide back down to earth.
Next is the Woodpecker Tree. This takes the form of a large hollow tree trunk being pecked by a giant woodpecker. Within the tree trunk are a series of ladders and platforms leading them to the top. When they reach the viewing platform at the top children can look through the pine forest and see if they can spot the lifesize wooden woodpecker!
Entering a darker part of the forest visitors will encounter the third play sculpture. They are twin climbing walls in the form of a bat and moth.
The final area on the route is now open and the network of tunnels gives you the chance to feel like a rabbit in a warren or a badger in a sett.
The Habitat Trail is suitable for pushchairs.
