Are you ready for this? Mountain biking is inherently risky, so the best way to stay safe is by being realistic about your own ability and aware of what's going on around you. Read our short safety guide.
Be courteous and show respect to others. Give way to other users at junctions and on shared sections. Let slower riders know you are behind them without intimidating them. Pull over to let faster riders pass. Keep noise to a minimum and moderate your language around residential areas.
Volunteer mountain bike trail builders Chase Trails were founded by local riders in 2003 with the aim of building and maintaining high quality, sustainable mountain bike trails on Cannock Chase. Working in partnership with the Forestry Commission they have built 15 miles of trails which they are continually working to maintain and improve. Read the Story of Chase Trail on their blog

Monday August 22nd was the first time I'd ever been to Cannock Chase, I watched some videos of Follow The Dog on YouTube and want to give it a go, it was brilliant fun but also really hard, I have to admit that I walked up some of the hills but still good fun, well worth the two hour drive

Great trail lots of options to do the black sections for the more experienced riders and bail out options if you are not so confident

20 mins from front door to Milford, then a steady ride up to the 'dog'. It never fails to disappoint. I ride a carrera vengeance and it copes! Fun in all weather's and totally free!!
