Explore Morkery Wood
(Average user rating: 5 unrated 5/5)

Morkery is a small, peaceful, ancient woodland which was used as an ammunition and bomb store during the Second World War (RAF South Witham). The network of hard tracks provides good all year round access for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. A small car park is provided.

What do other visitors say?

Hi, do you need a parking permit to bring a horse trailer to ride in the woods?

Anonymous, 4/May/2016

No, you can bring a horse trailer to the woods, but please park so that you leave space for others. Thank you.

I've just moved to the area and am really pleased that such a lovely place is nearby for dog walking. It is such a shame that some dog owners let their dogs foul right on the pathway without picking it up - maybe if there were some bins people would dispose of it. It spoils a lovely walk.

We are glad you enjoy the woods. Unfortunately we do not have the resources to provide bins in the 35 woods we look after in this area.
