Three walking trails start from this car park the Easy Access Trail a surfaced trail suitable for buggies and mobility scooters, Vinnalls Loop and The Climbing Jack Trail for seasoned walkers.

Please note that there are height restriction barriers at this car park. Visitors with horse boxes need to use the Black Pool car park for which a key is available for purchase from the forest office.

Have so enjoyed our walk today around Vinnalls Loop, and especially the spectacular view from the top. There were a few occasions when we were unsure of which direction the arrow pointed along the trail but nevertheless we enjoyed the walk immensely and found our way back to the car park. We look forward to the next walk there!

Hi, could you tell me if the collecting of fossils has been banned? Thank you.

Anonymous, 6/Sep/2014

We have a number of sites in Mortimer Forest which are important for fossils some of which are Sites of Special Scientific interest and so protected by law. These sites are a significant educational resources and people travel considerable distances to study them. We welcome the public to come and look at the fossils, photograph, sketch, measure etc but the removal of them is unsustainable and degrades the sites. In some cases the removal of fossils is also illegal therefore we do not allow fossil collecting in the Forest.
