Hopton Downhill Trails
(Average user rating: 4 unrated 4/5)

Latest News (28/11/2016 14:36)

Forestry Work is about to start in Hopton Woods.

This is a wide scale thinning operation which will take some weeks to complete depending on the weather and ground conditions.

We will need to shut sections of trail as the work progresses and will try to keep these closures as short as it is safe to do so.

There will be a few days when the car park and access road will be closed so we can safely fell the trees around it.

Please:
-Believe closure signs,
-Keep away from stacked timber,
-Expect to meet forest machinery and timber wagons,
-Give us time to check trails are safe to re-open,
-Spread the word to avoid wasted journeys,
-Keep an eye our facebook page www.facebook.com/ourlocalwoods for the latest updates

Thanks

Trail description

Hopton's most exciting downhill runs are for the seasoned mountain bikers only.

The berms, descents, jumps and turns will test the skills of even the most experienced riders in search of thrills.

Be Safe

Wear a full face helmet and body armour, walk the course first and ride within your ability.

Moderate Trails

For the novice biker with some off road experience the Hopton Blue starts from the Bedstone Hill car park and offers just over 4km of wide tracks to develop your skills on.  The moderate section of the Warm-up Loop is approximately 1km.

Pearce XC

12.6km of flowing descents and lung busting climbs and stunning views which are bound to put a smile on your face. This trail has been built in partnership with Pearce Cycles of Ludlow.

I've become a regular as its a fantastic trail. Adjust speed to suit ability and you're guaranteed an enjoyable few hours of varied riding, with nothing scary. Recommend you carry a spare tube -as its a long walk back with a flat!

Visited for 1st time recently on a Sunday quiet which was enjoyable. Quite technical for me as a relative novice but would certainly go again
