We cycle to and from High Lodge regularly to do the various routes and have found that the main stretch shared by the Poacher, Lime Burner and Beater trails has become absurdly sandy and has become a bit dangerous, really - especially at speed - and we were wondering if any repairs are due anytime soon?
The rest of the trails are grand :)
Forestry Commission Response
Thank you for your feedback regarding the High Lodge cycle trails. We are aware that during particularly dry spells of weather, areas of the trail do become quite sandy. Although the trail surface is not outside of the grading of the trail, we do understand that riding through sand is not a great experience. Unfortunately it is very difficult to repair but we are currently looking at options to divert/re-route the section of trail you have mentioned as part of the trail developments on the Lime Burner trail.

Enjoyed this trail but despite lots of blue markers I still managed to find the signage between short and long route a bit poor and did some parts twice.
