I took my three grandchildren on the C course last week. We enjoyed the course and had a good time.
But I have a number of comments (I am an experienced Orienteer, but my grandchildren are not):
(a) it is difficult to get started - there is a complex path network to be negotiated, near WildPlay, in order to get to the first control
(b) The second control (No 73, Bridge) I thought was far too difficult; it is not readily approachable from above (i.e. from the West), and in the end I found it by an unpleasant scramble up the stream from the large track bend to the South - I was close to abandoning the whole thing at this point
(c) The rest of the course was really good and I thought at an appropriate level of difficulty.
(d) A pity that some of the posts had old control codes as well as the red plate, and in some case the red plate was itself looking rather worn and tired.
Anyway, it was a good thing for us to do, so many thanks. But I do think there is considerable scope for improvement to make a better and more welcoming experience of orienteering.

Thanks for taking the time to send your feedback. We do have plans to revise and update the orienteering courses this autumn so we will pass your comments to the ranger team who will find them useful when redesigning the course.
