Trail description

There are twenty permanent orienteering posts scattered throughout this interesting and diverse forest. The map has suggestions of routes you may take depending on what type you are aiming for e.g easy, moderate or difficult. Or if none of them suit, you can just make up your own!
Maps are available from the Forest Office or the Cafe in the Woods.

Please note:   November 2016  We have refreshed our orienteering course with assistance from Thames Valley Orienteering Club. Half the posts have been moved to new locations.  The post numbers which have moved are: 1, 2, 6, 9, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19 and 20. Please be aware if using an old map that these have are now in new locations.

Please contact the office on 0300 067 4160 if you would like further information. New maps are now available at the office, and the Café in the Woods.

Yes, maps are available from the Café in the Woods. They can also be bought from the Forest Office, at the bottom of the hill opposite Harebridge Lane Industrial Estate. The office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Excellent course, and tough if you reach all 20 control points. A good challenge.

Sam White, 23/Jul/2015

Hi - I would like to bring some students one afternoon to do some orienteering. Please could you tell me any costs. Also, we would like to do some in the afternoon and stay and do a circuit in the dark. Is that possible. Thanks.
