Grade of Trail:
Length of trail:1 miles
Trail is currently open
This short, surfaced trail has easy access and is suitable for those wanting a short, level walk taking in different parts of the woodland. It can be used with wheelchairs and buggies. There is one point where the trail crosses our forest drive before winding round some conifers before emerging at a viewpoint. The trail has regular resting perches and benches.
Sculptures, deciduous trees, evergreen trees and many woodland flowers make this a varied walk, completed by a fantastic view across the wood and chiltern farmland. The path also gives everyone the chance to detour off to the highest point of the Chilterns which is commemorated by a cairn. There is also a beautiful viewpoint and a sculpture at the end of this trail, a short detour to your left.
The Easy Access Trail is fantastic when the bluebells are out and work is regularly done to maintain views of this stunning woodland flower.
A new iPhone App for visitors to Forestry Commission sites is also available now. It's easy to use and has a number of features including downloadable trail maps. For more information visit www.forestry.gov.uk/mobileapp
