Forestry Commission Scotland is looking for members to join the Highland and Islands Regional Forestry Forum. Appointment is for a 3 year period, with the option to re-appoint. Posts are voluntary and unpaid, but are eligible for applicable expenses.
The Forum advises Forestry Commission Scotland on implementing the Scottish Forestry Strategy within the Highland and Islands Conservancy. The Forum covers the local authority areas of Highland, Western Isles and the Northern Isles.
You’ll be an effective contributor in Forum meetings, a strategic thinker, and enjoy working with others. You’ll require particular knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas, preferably within Highland and Islands; forestry or timber processing, native woodland management, community woodlands, integration of forestry with agriculture, environment or rural development.
The Forum meets 3 times a year and may set up smaller working groups to take forward specific issues.
