About Garwnant

As the southern gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park, Garwnant Visitor Centre is situated conveniently along the A470, 12 miles south of Brecon and 5 miles north of Merthyr Tydfil.

This beautiful forest is a jewel in the Forestry Commission crown and one of South Wales' leading recreation sites, now boasting some of the top facilities in the country. From the high-tech conference room to our Changing Places disabled facilities, our trails and our award-winning restaurant, the newly re-developed site really does have something for everyone.

For the little kids...

There's plenty to entertain the family. With our fantastic play area, low ropes course and the Animal Puzzle Trail, you're guaranteed to return time and time again. Be sure to look out for details of our forthcoming events and activity days.

...and something for the big kids!

Try our Wern Walk or the Willow Walk for a few hours light exercise or simply relax with a cup of coffee and a selection of local foods in our restaurant.
