    We protect and expand Britain’s forests and woodlands; and increase their value to society and the environment.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of 25 policy advisors and programme co-ordinators that lead national delivery of the Government’s Strategy for England’s Trees, Woods and Forests.

    Woodland based business such as those working in forestry, timber, woodfuel, leisure and tourism face many challenges and opportunities.  Educated to degree level with an understanding of these challenges and opportunities, you will be able to build and sustain relationships with a diverse range of partners.  Your inspirational approach will secure the commitment of both colleagues and external stakeholders to policies and programmes that improve the competitiveness of woodland based businesses and promote markets for products and services that deliver national or local public benefits, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to develop and influence Government policy and to represent the Forestry Commission to external bodies and the media.
