The RE:LEAF Community Grant Scheme

The Forestry Commission's RE:LEAF Community Grant Scheme is part of The Big Tree Plant and offers grants to Primary Care Trusts, community groups, local businesses, and woodland owners and managers, who want to work with local people to improve their local treescape within London. They are targeted at the areas of greatest need within the capital.

Grants are awarded to projects across a wide variety of categories including those that aim to improve biodiversity, improve health and well being, engage the community, regenerate local areas, carry out tree and woodland management and a number of other areas. Grants are normally between £500 and £5,000.

We are particularly keen to support projects that deliver some of the priorities of the RE:LEAF initiative, including the establishment of community tree nurseries and community orchards, or tree planting projects that improve local environmental quality. The grant can also fund community-led woodland management projects.

This year's  scheme will be open for applications on the 23rd March 2011. All applications must be received by 12.00pm on 15th July 2011.
