SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT SERVICE

The Supplier Development Service is a project funded by the Welsh Assembly Government to help Welsh businesses gain the experience and knowledge needed to tender for work within the Public and Private sectors. The aim is to assist businesses through training in tendering at How to Tender Seminars, also by providing an opportunity to discuss contracts at Meet the Buyer events where organisations such as County Councils, Higher Education organisations, Local Health, Rescue and Police authorities are present and local companies are given appointments for an informal chat with each body. This is a good chance to ask about forthcoming contracts and establish contacts within the Public Sector. These events have proved very successful in the past leading to several contracts being won by local SMEs ( Small and Medium Enterprises ). One to one advice is available to complete Pre Qualification Questionnaire ( PQQ ) and prepare tenders.

They also assist businesses by looking for tendering opportunities on their behalf. All assistance is free of charge. As the public sector in Wales spends over £5b on goods and services the project allows SMEs who wish to tender for small and large contracts to access expertise to gain work within this sector. Please contact one of the champions listed if you would like help in completing any tender documentation for the Forestry Commission tenders.
