COMMERCIAL CHRISTMAS PARTNERSHIPS AT SHERWOOD PINES FOREST PARK EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
Expressions of interest are invited for an experiential Christmas partnership at Sherwood Pines, near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
We, the Forestry Commission, currently operate a Christmas tree sales centre, located within the popular woodland setting of Sherwood Pines Forest Park. This usually involves a couple of very busy weekends as well as more modest mid week and weekend periods depending upon when Christmas day falls etc, we have about 30,000 visitors currently during this period. We believe there is an opportunity to provide a visitor experience, possibly relating to Christmas or winter, which would complement our existing recreation offer and Christmas tree sales activity.
We are relying on our new partner to come forward with innovative ideas for creating some kind of self financing and appropriate visitor experience, ideally themed around Christmas or winter. We see our role as providing the site and general support and the opportunity for the successful partner to fully finance, develop and run the activity. We would hope to take a modest share of any turnover as part of any arrangement.
