I took my wife to see Deacon Blue at Westonbirt Arboretum last Saturday. In view of the fine weather, we really looked forward to the even. However, due to the selfish behaviour of many people around us, we had to leave the concert early as just could not enjoy the music in peace. Groups of people talked incessantly throughout the band's performance, others smoked nearby and generally there was too much alcohol being consumed for the behaviour to be acceptable. What was truly amazing, was the the "chatter" volume rose during the music as people couldn't make themselves heard above it all! It seems that this is yet another avenue of enjoyment that will be removed from our plans thanks to the selfish behaviour of a large section of society. Where will it all end?

Came to see Boyzone Friday 18th and it was brilliant. Kian Egan was fab and the Boyzone guys did a great job. I have been to quite a few concerts at this venue over the past few years so knew what to expect with regards exiting the car park and arena etiquette. Reading the negative comments I really wanted to say something. Firstly, there is one way in and out of the venue so really what do you expect is going to happen?! Thousands of cars all trying to leave at the same time are not going to flow freely out even with the best traffic management in the world. I stay in the arena, enjoy the end of the evening in a calm environment finishing off my picnic and chatting over the evenings events with the rest of my party. Then we make our way to the car once the initial rush has died down. Simple logistics! As to people standing by the stage, its an open air concert, some people are going to want to do this. You have that freedom of choice at such an event. Find a nice spot away from the stage and your view will not be blocked. It is a great venue, both the performers and atmosphere of the crowd is always fantastic and I love coming to the concerts put on here.
